My son, Ryan (14) wrote this blog about motivation and dedication. He searched google for inspiration and research, using the terms “human tendency,” “human attraction” and “why is social media bad.” He wrote and edited the post himself and wanted to share his thoughts with others! Enjoy the read and leave Ryan a comment! Thanks!
When Should Motivation and Dedication Lead to Success?
You might ask yourself “Why should I do this” or “Can this benefit me?” Most of the time it is “Yes, it can.” but most of the time we say “No, it can’t.”
I am fourteen years old, and I am writing this because I want to help people even if it is through speech, writing or even emergency services. I think we all should be more motivated and determined to do what we want to do. I wholeheartedly believe that if you want to do something in life and if you put in the work and I
mean everything you have to succeed, you will succeed in that dream you have.
I also believe if you say something like “I’m going to do my chores” and you do not do them you are going against your word. I will admit I have done all these things that I am stating and that is why I am writing this. So, I do not mess up in the future and other people do not make the same mistakes I have done.
I have heard some pretty depressing music from my classmates because they think it is cool because they are friends are doing it, but in reality, it is not because it is just making you depressed and less energized. The music we listen to, can change our mood, (It has happened to me) I also know a lot of people watch YouTube and TikTok and they watch the stuff that they don’t want to be doing in life, stuff that you can use to help you, and stuff that you can use to be
a better person.
Instead of using social media for a “Human tendency” or “Human attraction” we should use it for a learning purpose for what we want to do when we get older, as an example I should watch less video games and start watching The Air Force or Basketball videos because that is what I want to do when I am older.
We should also be less addicted to social media since it is unhealthy. Social media is unhealthy because it encourages us to watch since it is so entertaining
and engaging to watch.
Another topic I want to introduce is instead of playing video games you
should go outside, read a book, look on the internet for what you want to do when you get older, or even find information that can help you or others.
I do understand that some people want to do jobs that are on the internet, and I did say “if you want to do something in life and if you put in the work” and “You will succeed.” but at the same time you don’t have to be addicted to Social
Media if you want to do a job on the Internet.
The point I am trying to make is that you do not have to be addicted to do something you love or want to do. Another thing is that instead of fully
stopping watching and playing video games and social media you can do less of it.
For example, I wear this bracelet every day and it says, “Do it for yourself.” This means that you do activities that are healthier for you like eating healthy, watching fewer social media, “I watched social media and did not do my chores. My chores did not get done and I got in trouble.” This can also happen with Video games.
Something you should do more in life is that you need to hold yourself accountable. You should do this because it makes sure that you know what you are doing wrong, and it also makes more trustworthy friends and family that want to be around you.
When we are on our “Devices” we are unaware of our surroundings, and then people get upset at you, what I am saying is that we should pay attention more.
Something I want to work on is that I want to work out more, but I do not because I am too distracted. I also want to edit my photos again. I do not because of me being distracted. I wake up every morning around five forty AM so I can do early morning things, but I do not because I get distracted and that is my fault.
Even when you mess up in life you must just get back up, you need to forget about the mess ups, learn from them.
